Halloween!

We had a lovely and somewhat low-key Halloween. Especially as we had no costumes or plans for any of us until the afternoon of it. Kailyn was a monkey. And yes, she has asked to wear that costume every day since then.

I think she looks darling. Even though the costume is kind of vague. I still have a hard time seeing that it's a monkey and not a lion or a scarecrow or something. Anyway, she went trick-or-treating with Garrett and then with me. And no, we are not having marital problems, one of us just had to stay home with the sleeping Harlie Jo :) Also, Kailyn is a monster when she eats too many sweets so I have hidden her Halloween candy. She'll just have to ration it out and I don't care if that makes me a mean mother. I also want to like her during the day instead of being fed up and impatient with a tantrum-after-tantrum possessed maniac. So there, I am a good mother because I keep us on good terms.

Unfortunately, Harlie Jo sorta missed the Halloween bus. She slept through the trick-or-treating thing and we did plop the headband on her at one point but it only lasted a few minutes. Those things are big and awkward, right? However, I did dress her up again the next day and manage to snap a couple pictures, just because. She was a bunny.

And a freakin' cute one, right?! Oh yeah, we also watched "Hocus Pocus" and had every intention of carving pumpkins... They are still sitting on our porch--uncarved-- for fall, you know. Anyway, the weather was freaking nice and the snow managed to hold off all the way until the day AFTER Halloween. It was a Utah Halloween miracle. Also I looked up what Halloween celebrates on Wikipedia and I learned that it is kind of a Day of the Dead (ones we've lost) eve and partly derived from Scottish "guising." There was more, you should look it up. I'll even include a link. I'm so nice. And awesome.

So that was our holiday. Also, Kailyn's having her 2nd birthday this Friday! And we will finally be having Harlie Jo's Baby Blessing this Sunday! And then we will be moving the next Saturday! Our lives are so fun. Maybe I'll post again soon. Peace.
