Better Late than Never, Right?

So it has been quite a while since I've posted so I have a little catching up to do. I'll start with Christmas. This year for Christmas, we decided to do a little something different. Rather than only having Christmas with one side of our family, we decided to first have our own family Christmas with just us three. We wanted to make sure that we had our own traditions and we didn't want to impose all of our traditions on the whole family so we celebrated our Christmas a little early and it was awesome.
Garrett and I started a tradition that we have to homemake at least one of our gifts to each other. The picture above is of Garrett with his homemade slippers on. Those felt squares spell out "I'm Awesome." He likes to doodle that phrase on his papers when he has time and I find it really funny so I thought it would be nice for him to have some slippers that express his awesomeness to the world.
Also I made us wear Santa hats. Obviously Kailyn was in love with that idea.
This is Garrett's homemade present to me. He made me a keepsake book through iPhoto of our first year of marriage. Actually of 2008, which is when we were dating, engaged, and married. We also plan to make one for 2009 and then I'll be caught up. Each year we'll make one for the previous year so we have all of 2011 to make 2009 and 2010. It's just a picture book, but I love the idea of having something physical to document the memories that were made each year.
We managed to keep the Santa hat on a little longer.

So those were pictures of just our own Christmas. On the actual Christmas Eve and Day, we went to Garrett's parents' house. Our camera battery died so we didn't get very many pictures, but we did manage to snap a couple of Kailyn in the Christmas program before it completely gave out.
Here's Kailyn being the Virgin Mary holding baby doll Jesus.
Here's one of her from the front. A little blurry because she's sort of in constant motion at all times.

Now here's just a couple random pictures of Kailyn being cute.
We put her in my apron so she could help me cook. It was a little long for her so we tied it up. That actually weighed her down a little so she kept tipping over. It was cute.
Here she is learning to read and write at the same time. She is fancy.
We were having fun with her on the couch and noticed that her hair was so static-ky(sp?) and we thought it was really cute and funny.

And this is the update on my baby bump so far.
This is at around 9 weeks (2 months).
And this one is from yesterday. So 19 weeks (4ish months).

So that's the update for now. Otherwise, we had a lovely holiday season and are having a very nice new year, for the most part. I am doing well in my pregnancy. With Kailyn I was sick the whole 9 months and with this one, I'm a lot less sick. Garrett is doing well and staying very busy during this, his last semester ever. And Kailyn just got over being sick but is back to her normal busy-body self now. We are excited that this is our last semester of school because that means that one of these days, we'll probably be moving and having a more settled lifestyle once Garrett gets a full-time job, which he's currently working on.

We love you all and hope that you had wonderful holidays as well. And come visit anytime you want, we love company!
