Having a Ball

So I got a haircut, only it's the same haircut as the one I had before. Here it is.The above picture is also the before version of me since I dyed my hair.

Now it is dark brown. And I like it! I've never had this dark of hair before.

Onto the cuter pictures, this is little Stink playing in a gigantic heap of clean laundry (and I may or may not have waited so that I had to do all 5 loads in one day but that is no one's business but my own...).

This is how I found her in the morning when I let her play as I wasn't ready to wake up but she was. I guess I left the chips out the previous night. That will teach me to be a better superviser and to be more conscientious of what I leave at baby-level. I love that no-guilt look too, what a stinker.

Here are Garrett and Ms. Kai Bug reading about animals. I think Garrett was more into the book than she was. Naturally.

This little giggly girl was having such a ball while she was rocking with her handsome daddy in the rocking chair, I just had to snap a picture.

This is her pulling herself up onto my knees, which she's getting way good at.

This is one of Kailyn's best friends, Darcy Adkinson. They are two weeks apart and could not be more different. Darcy's big, Kailyn's little. Darcy loves to eat, Kailyn would rather do anything else. Darcy stands on her own, Kailyn doesn't (which I unfortunately have forgotten a time or two and it resulted in a sad, helpless Kailyn falling flat on her face because Mommy let her go, shame on me). They play so funny together (i.e. Darcy drums on or pushes Kailyn, Kailyn avoids Darcy, Darcy and Kailyn both poke each others' eyes out and steal each others' bottles and toys); but it's still so fun to have a friend.

Lastly, did I mention that on August 4th, Kailyn turned 9 MONTHS OLD!!!??? She's growing up so fast and I barely even remember when she used to be just a tiny, stationary, darling, alien-baby. We had our 9 month check up and this is what's up:
She's small. She weighs about 16lbs, which is somewhere around the 7th percentile. She's also totally healthy. Her pediatrician says I don't even need to work on feeding her more or anything; he just tells me to keep doing what we're doing. She is 27 inches long and in the 39.7th percentile. That's her highest percentile of the 3 things they always measure. Her last measurement is her head circumference. She shot up from 7th percentile 4 months ago to 26th percentile with a head circumference of 17 inches, woo hoo for my baby's growing head!
And I may have said this already in a different post, but Kailyn has not only 1 but 2 teeth growing in on the bottom. I felt the first one break through Sunday the 25th. She's so big, I just love her to pieces.

Your Mother-in-law frosted her hair when the kids were young. She was very fashionable and a trend-setter in her family. I really liked that about her. Being able to change ourselves a bit makes life more exciting. You look great either way.--Dad Strong
