Keeping Busy

I just made a public blog which I have been meaning to do for a while. If you want, you can follow that one or add it to your google reader list and every time I post on here, I'll post there so that you know when I have updates. Just an idea.

Also, have I mentioned what Garrett's been up to these days? I can't remember if I've mentioned this on my blog previously but he has decided to pursue medical school so he has been preparing a lot for that. Right now he is: taking chemistry and physics classes at school, taking a biology class online, doing research with one of his professors, being the Vice President for the Facility and Property Management Student Association, being the Family Representative Coordinator for Habitat for Humanity, working maintenance at the MTC, and as of last week he is also the Executive Secretary to the bishop in our BYU Married Student Ward at church. Maybe it's just me, but I think he has a lot on his plate right now! Last night we ate dinner when he got home at 11 o'clock. And on top of all that, he is trying to: be involved in our home life (which is sometimes overwhelming on its own), exercise, study, and even relax once is a while. Isn't that insane? He's doing so well with everything though, I have been really impressed. I think having so many responsibilities has forced him to try to organize his time well. And since one of the major time-occupiers right now is the Exec. Sec. calling, I think the Lord has to doubly bless him for trying to serve Him too.

Anyhow, we have been extremely blessed. We had no trouble getting pregnant when we wanted to. The pregnancy and delivery went incredibly smoothly (besides all the vomiting). Kailyn came out and still is generally healthy. Garrett and I are both healthy and in love with each other. We love the gospel and also our ward. We have a nice apartment. We have two cars that we barely pay anything on. We have all the food we need. We have wonderful families and friends who are constantly helping and loving us. We have clothes, computers, furniture, tv, internet, cable, and running water. We live in a nice area where we hardly ever get robbed... ;)--and when we do, they don't bother us inside, they just take bikes sitting out front. People always give us things (clothes, craftsy stuff, baby supplies, advice, etc.). We're on a couple government programs that help pay for things we totally wouldn't be able to pay for. We are intelligent and able to learn and retain new information. We have great relationships with our in-laws. We have the cutest, sweetest, slightly underweight little daughter we could ever imagine.

I could go on and on but you get the idea, we feel blessed.

Your little family is the sweetest and nicest family. I know it is because you work well together and love each other. I am so proud to call you my own. How blessed we are to have all three of you in our family. I have seen first hand how truly marvelous you both are at taking care of Kailyn. I will babysit whenever you want.

how is kailyn doing? i hope she is gaining some weight!! Jordan refused the bottle too and he was 6 months before i ever tried it. The only solution was to stop the breast cold turkey and by the end of the first day he was so so hungry he took the bottle. before that, he would chew on it, or push it out of his mouth and cry! So, i would end up giving him the breast...once i cut that out...he had no choice anymore. So, if nothing else is working... I guess you could try that! Hope everything works out. You are a good mommy, you'll figure it out!
